Central and West Zealand Police (Midt- og Vestsjællands Politi) stated that a student was arrested at 11:05 after allegedly making threats that included the word “skyderi” (shooting). Officers emphasized that students and parents can attend school safely, and deployed a mobile police unit at Køge Gymnasium to provide reassurance and receive information from the public.

What the student is accused of and the court hearing

The suspect is charged (sigtet) with making threats against the school. On Friday, prosecutors presented the case at the district court in Roskilde (Retten i Roskilde). The 18-year-old was released after the hearing and remains under investigation. Authorities indicated that some proceedings may be held behind closed doors due to the nature of the case.

According to the police, there was no immediate threat to the school community. Teaching and activities could proceed, while officers conducted witness interviews and maintained a visible presence on site. The force said its role included creating a sense of public safety following the arrest.
