A previously unreleased song by Avicii has made its long-awaited debut as part of a new posthumous album, “Avicii Forever”, released on May 15. The track, titled “Let’s ride away”, showcases the late DJ and producer’s unique musical style and marks a significant addition to his legacy.
The song was co-written by Tim Bergling (Avicii), American country star Kacey Musgraves, and producer Luke Laird. It is performed by Elle King, known for her gritty, soulful voice. The track blends country-inspired acoustic textures with Avicii’s signature melodic EDM, reflecting the genre-crossing creativity that defined much of his work.

“It is one of the rare songs that blend organic, roots-inspired elements with his typical melodic style in a way that feels both fresh and unmistakably Avicii,” said Carl Falk, long-time friend and producer, in a press release. “Releasing it now gives even more people the chance to experience his brilliance – maybe even for the first time.”
The “Avicii Forever” compilation features 19 tracks, combining his most iconic songs with this newly released piece. The release is both a celebration and a remembrance of Bergling’s enduring influence on global pop and dance music.
Tim Bergling died by suicide in April 2018 at the age of 28. Since then, his family has worked to honor his memory through music and mental health advocacy, including the establishment of the Tim Bergling Foundation.
A growing legacy through posthumous releases
“Let’s ride away” adds to a small but impactful collection of posthumously released songs by Avicii. Each release, carefully curated by collaborators and family, seeks to preserve the authentic sound and artistic intent of the Swedish artist. Previous posthumous works have included the 2019 album “Tim,” which featured collaborations with artists like Aloe Blacc and Chris Martin.
This new song, with its Americana flavor and electronic polish, resonates with Avicii’s ambition to blur genre boundaries and connect with a global audience. Its inclusion in “Avicii Forever” positions it as both a musical statement and a cultural tribute, continuing to inspire fans worldwide.
